>> reporter: that was the first of many buses that will use this center after 8 years of building here. ac transit provides service to 13,000 people a day and thanks to the new center, it can accommodate 24,000 riders per hour. >> we can dramatically increase the number of riders we bring into san francisco, reducing emissions and congestion, and reduces stress. get out of the car and just ride. >> reporter: there is more than 100,000 square feet here and will ultimately connect 11 modes of transportation altogether. the high speed rail project

won't be complete until about 2028, best case scenario. but so many buses are expected to take advantage of this beautiful new center, and they will be coming in in a steady stream all morning long. >> i think we'd get in trouble if we went over there. ivoriedeni have ridden mass transit with you. >> they are hoping to work out an agreement and we'll keep you

currently looking at 61 in concord, 55 in san francisco and 60 for san josi, 50 degrees to start for santa rosa. let's talk about visibility. half moon bay visibility at 2 miles there, and petaluma with dense fog this morning. so be careful there and stay safe. morning low clouds and fog for the coast and parts of the bay. highs today will be 3 to 8 degrees cooler than yesterday, and staying mild through the middle part of the week. we'll talk about what you can expect and when we'll heat up again, coming up in a few minutes. a health advisory has been issued due to the smoke from a grass fire in contra costa

county. it wassish oohed about 11:00 p.m. near north broadway and cistern avenue in bay point. people with respiratory issues could have problems due to the air, although the fire is not threatening any structures. the biggest wildfire in california history is forcing new evacuations. the mendocino complex fire is covering more than 331,000 acres, an area the size of phoenix. the ranch and river fires make up the fire, but the ranch fire has broken that record on its own. they don't expect to have that fire contained until sometime

in september. last month officials talked about the need to clear brush and trees to prevent the fires from spreading. >> everyone agrees active fire management starts by removing the dead timber. >> the carr fire has killed 8 people, including a firefighter who died last thursday. they wanted rent reduced but instead the 49ers will pay more to play at levi's stadium. >> reporter: the city of santa clara and the 49ers have been battling more than two years now. the team wanted their rent cut by more than $4 million a year, saying a clause allows for the reduction if financial performance was better than projected, which it was. the city didn't agree and both sides went to arbitration.

the arbitrator decided to raise the rent by about $300,000 a year. >> they asked for $180 million rent reduction and the city and stadium authority fought back. >> the mayor is expected to make more comments about the decision at a press conference later today. >> why did the city fight so hard? >> reporter: there was a lot of money at stake, but the bigger issue is getting more cash from the 49ers to pay down the outstanding debt for the stadium. an 18-year-old woman was under the influence according to chp when she drove off a

the making and is now home to 100,000 square feet of retail space, rooftop park, and will connect 11 transportation services. ac transit says they are ready to provide service for up to 24,000 people every hour. currently they have about 13,000 riders a day. >> we don't believe there's anything around the world that looks like this transit center. >> reporter: right now there's only a shell of a train station in the basement for the high

speed rail, expected to be complete in 2028. it will connect san francisco and silicon valley. one thing riders are concerned about is how long this place will stay clean. they hope it lasts but who knows. >> yeah, i don't know about that. >> it's an improvement over the last one. >> true. we are starting off with areas of fog and low clouds. and arriving flights at sfo are delayed about 20 minutes due to that fog out there. currently we have 61 in concord, san francisco 55,
